Iris (Jingwen) is a Valuation Intern for KW Commercial 889-9898 with Russell Bernstein, CBI. As a graduate student, Iris is pursuing a master’s degree in Finance at Simon Business School, University of Rochester, and she will be graduating in December of 2020. Iris is currently in pursuit of CFA certification.
Iris can be described as a gritty, self-disciplined and result-oriented young lady. All these characteristics contribute to her outstanding academic performance in both undergrad and graduate study. When she was in University of North Texas to pursue bachelor’s degree, she joined volunteer club and Professional Leadership Program. At the same time, work as a statistics tutor to help peers with their exams and assignments.
After coming to Simon Business School, Iris applies her great time-management skill to leverage schoolwork and social activities. Iris wears multiple hats at school: she actively participates in school endowment fund, Meliora fund, and Simon School Venture Fund. In order to increase her exposure to real business world, she attended several case competitions, performing attractive leadership skills and interpersonal skills. Iris has led team to participate a stock pitch competition and won a second prize out of 20+ teams.
During her spare time, Iris spends lots of time doing volunteer work both on-campus and off-campus. When she was at school, she helped the school admission office to welcome the incoming students and held virtual webinar to answer students’ questions about Simon life. She also devoted a ton of time during summer vacation working as a volunteer teacher in China to teach kindergarten kids.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Iris likes to travel, cooking and doing handcrafts. She has been traveled most famous sightseeing places of America when she was in undergrad with her friends. She also likes to make small crafts to her friends as birthday presents or Christmas gifts. During quarantine, she develops a new skill—cooking, and has experimented various types of food so far.
