Haruka Takei is a Marketing Intern and Japanese language specialist at KW Commercial 889-9898 with Russell Bernstein, CBI. She is a senior at University of Oregon studying Advertising and minoring in Business. She is expected to graduate in March 2021 and hopes to get a strategy or art director job in the Advertising industry after graduation.
Haruka is originally from Tokyo, Japan. She moved to Portland, OR with her family when she was a senior in High School. Since she came to the states, she has became fascinated at how bringing many different sets of values and unique ideas from each individual in a team can accomplish one thing in a powerful way. It led her to an interest in working internationally.
At college, she worked as a member of the event staff to organize and maintain campus events. She created social media content to promote campus events and improved her event planning skills. She also worked as kitchen staff in the campus cafeteria and prepared food and served students at various special events on campus.
Haruka is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi also called The National Society of Leadership. She developed her leadership skills by attending some programs and community services. She has even worked at the Oregon Food Bank to support the local community. She feels rewarded by showing support to the local community and she meets a variety of people while volunteering.
Haruka is passionate about basketball and art. She started to play basketball when she was a middle school student. Now, she enjoys playing basketball with her friends at the gym. She also likes to spend time making art. She sold her art online and donated all profits to the NAACP.
