Omkara Rao is a Valuation Intern at KW Commercial 889-9898 with Russell Bernstein, CBI. He is currently pursuing his B.B.A. in Finance and a Minor in Spanish at the University of Georgia. He expects to graduate in May of 2021.
Throughout the course of his undergraduate program, Omkara has taken a number of business-related courses to expand his financial acumen, including Financial & Managerial Accounting, Corporate Finance Theory, Financial Management, Financial Modeling, and Risk Management/Insurance. In order to explore his non-business related interests, Omkara spent 3 months studying abroad at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England, U.K. and had the opportunity to study Cognitive Psychology and Rhetoric of Social Movements under esteemed faculty. Omkara also has entrepreneurial interests and took a course in Entrepreneurship Essentials via Harvard Business School Online.
Prior to joining the Valuation Team, Omkara interned at OAM Services, Inc. OAM Services is a boutique technology consultancy which provides advisory services to startup CEOs. Omkara was a Finance and Business Development Intern, and his primary responsibilities included implementing a new online billing platform, assisting with tax preparations, identifying new revenue streams for the business, and performing ROI analyses.
Omkara first began developing his modeling skills through the Adventis Financial Modeling Certification Program, through which he learned how to build fully circular, best-in-class models of the financial statements, and gained a fundamental understanding of intrinsic versus relative valuations and leveraged buyout transactions. He is excited to refine his modeling skills and expand his base of knowledge via the completion of his internship with the Valuation Team at KW Commercial.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Omkara is the Vice President of Internal Affairs in his fraternity and is a member of an A Cappella team which has competed at the national level. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching heavyweight boxing matches, and reading books.
