Mary Larson is a marketing intern and German language specialist at KW Commercial 889-9898 with Russell Bernstein. She is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in History with a concentration in International Relations at Loyola University New Orleans. She is expected to graduate in December 2021.
Mary enjoys her major which combines both her love of history and international relations. She has been able to study a variety of topics from women in the middle ages to empires in the pacific. She also enjoys studying German, and hopes to focus her concentration on European studies and hopefully study abroad in Germany next year.
At Loyola New Orleans, Mary is involved with many on-campus organizations such as the SGA Senate, and the University Programming Board, which plans fun events on campus for students such as Wolfpack Wednesday and Third Friday. On the University Programming Board, Mary was able to learn some marketing skills in order to properly advertise these events for students. She learned the importance of utilizing social media for marketing.
Mary loves to travel and learn about new cultures. She has visited Mexico, Canada, Germany, Belgium, and France. She is planning to attend graduate school for international relations somewhere outside the United States in order to further familiarize herself on a broader scale. She also enjoys studying new languages, playing video games, and cycling.
Mary hopes to have a career in international relations, possibly working for organizations such as the US State Department, NATO, or the United Nations. She thinks the internship is a step in the right direction, as there is a large focus on international clients and allows her to practice her language skills. She believes the internship will help her further understand how international businesses function.
