Mina Koo is currently a student at the University of Virginia, expecting to graduate in May 2021 as a Bachelor of Statistics with concentration in actuarial finance. She is a Valuation Intern at KW Commercial 889-9898 with Russell Bernstein, CBI.
Born in Kimhae, South Korea, she moved to the states when she was in fourth grade and has lived in Virginia ever since then. Before attending the University of Virginia, she attended Harrisonburg High School for four years and Massanutten Governor's School for her junior and senior years.
Throughout her years at the university, she has taken courses that deepened her knowledge in statistics such as Mathematical Statistics, Statistical Analysis, Probability, Linear Algebra, and Microeconomics. In addition, She took courses such as Data Mining, Data Analysis with Python, Regression Analysis, and Forensic Science that honed her skills in data analysis and programming with R, SAS, SQL, and Python.
Outside of her academic pursuits, she served as the treasurer of Taiwanese Student Association; as a treasurer, she executed the financial planning, overseeing, and reporting of the organization, ameliorating her analytical skills and project management skills. She also established significant business experience and developed strong interpersonal skills as one of her forte while working at a restaurant, café, and academy.
During her free time, Mina likes to read books, especially those of personal-development genre, or watch fantasy or horror films. Mina is thrilled to be a part of the valuation team at KW Commercial and hopes to gain more experiences and new skills.
